I am not as concerned about lid lift as I am with the width of the lazy susan being tight in the box. If you are going to offer an updated box can it be wider too so lazy susan doesn’t rub the sides of the box when you take it in and out?
In my copy the SUSAN does actually rub on the sides of the box, so that’d be nice if was a smidge bigger in both directions for sure! Though I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, as I have several people tell me that particular problem didn’t exist in their copy.
I find giant, unwieldy boxes to be a lot worse than having multiple boxes. It can actually be really convenient to be able to separate out expansion context and not take it with you. For example, I find Wingspan gets a lot less plays because I don’t want to bring all of it with me at once… whereas I’d just toss it in when it was a smaller box. Given this is a lighter game, I think multiple boxes is helpful as this is the sort of game that gets tossed in the bag as a ‘maybe we’ll get to this one too’.
I can’t stand monstrous all-in boxes. I got rid of big box Everdell and Anachrony because they never got to the table after I “upgraded” to the big box versions. I’m looking at the Vindication giant box, and I don’t even want to organize it.
I’m new to Planet Unknown and went all-in. After skimming a lot of posts on BGG, I noticed several original owners painting there S.U.S.A.N.. The most popular color chosen to paint the S.U.S.A.N. is black or space landscape. Has it ever been asked to create the top pieces of S.U.S.A.N. in black rather than clear and white? Maybe this has been addressed before and I am unaware.
I commented on this just last night! I think a black color would be great! If it managed to incorporate white fleck (for stars), it would be even better!
Yes a fair number of requests for people wanting a duplicate copy of corp boards and planets so they can play a full table with everybody playing Republic Corporation and everybody playing Planet Petra for example.
Now that’s a great idea! I usually want to play the same planet/corp and it’s just not nice fair to the other players, especially since some are overpowered..
I don’t mind multiple boxes if I’m able to distribute preferentially. I am not sure if the Master box would help me but I definitely like the Deluxe Supermoon box although “the core gametrayz” bother me as I don’t understand if you are duplicating trays from the base game and why or if these are Gametrayz’s specific to the expansion components that happen to be of the same design?
Oh well.
Cheers.
I am getting the neoprene mats instead of the “hobby upgrade pack”. This still leaves two corporation boards missing, however. I would like to order just those two deluxe-only corporation boards without having to order a minimum of 5, as the a la carte option seems to state is required. I also like the idea of a base game box that is big enough to hold the neoprene mats, but I don’t mind the expansion being in its own box.
I am not really interested in super moon, but like the idea of still getting the additional corporation content. Is that what the a la carte option would give me?
It’s flat enough that it causes no box lift at all when sitting atop the lazy Susan.
So I don’t really have any need for bigger boxes right now. Not sure how well the Supermoon boards will fit in the main box. I’d prefer that to having to get a bigger box for a few maps and tokens. I’d be interested to know whether you think it will fit.
If I have all the content except the neoprene mats, I imagine one of the “temporary” solutions might serve as my single box solution. Any thoughts on which one might be the best fit? The master box would likely be overkill for me at the end of the day
I would be interested in pretty much all the English options presented, I just hope if there was a big box or deluxification upgrade it can be offered:
1. As an upgrade from the hobby edition & as an upgrade for the deluxe edition (ie with the plastic bits and missing corporation boards)
2. Can be shipped as it’s own sku, to optimize packing and shipping costs. Like how Unconcious Mind worked with ID Lite by Fantasia, or Scarface 1920 by Redzen.
The more I read the more confused I am about what is in and out of each version, let alone the box dimensions! Perhaps some sort of table would be useful (to be at least!).
I vote for separate planet and super moon boxes, each with enough room for the neoprene mat upgrade and room for the SUSAN lid in the planet box. Failing that, a cute little box for the mats of both planet and moon editions. I’m not really sure if either is listed in the poll…
I have the 1st edition of the deluxe. I’d like a box big enough to fit all my original stuff and all of the super moon stuff, including the Susan Lid. I’m not interested in the neoprene mats for any of it but want a box that fits deluxe and super moon without extra space from not having the neoprene. That way everything fits snug. Is there a current option for this in this pole? Also, it looks like the new deluxe has updated component trays (planets and corps). Would theses be an option?
As an owner of the Retail edition I’d like to upgrade to the Deluxe edition and am interested in the following.
Retail to Deluxe upgrade pack containing:
Retail Content upgrade,
Plastic bits,
Gametrayz component trays,
Optionally the Deluxe Edition box.
Also like to have the Supermoon expansion + Lid (already backed this in the campaign),
Also interested in the a la carte option for extra planets and corporations or alternatively the Deluxe Supermoon which has a complete set of all planets and corps.
For storage I prefer that the expansion has its own box and would not opt for a big box solution.
What option would be 1 box for base + supermoon + room for future expansions but not any neoprene mats or other accessories?
All the utility boxes mention the neoprene mats so it isn’t any of those.
Is that the Master Box? or is that box for neoprene mats too?
Make a comment if you want to see another add-on listed!

I agree with this statement. Any effort to make a new box (temporary, permanent, etc.) needs to be wider to better accommodate the lazy susan !!!
In my copy the SUSAN does actually rub on the sides of the box, so that’d be nice if was a smidge bigger in both directions for sure! Though I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, as I have several people tell me that particular problem didn’t exist in their copy.
All people I know report the same. An all-dimension broaden box would be super-useful.
Agree definitely
We would need more rovers if everyone plays with Horizon Corp
I think master box is the obvious winner overall. Nothing beats all in one storage solutions. People are tired of multi box games. I know I am.
but on the other hand, some people are also tired of giant boxes that are too cumbersome to take anywhere…

Same here. Good suggestion.
Can you explain what this add is:
Planets and corporations – Competitive player – Option 1 (Sets of 12 and 8 for competitive players) – Est $40
Is this more planets and corporations on top of the ones that already come in the deluxe box and supermoon?
Yes a fair number of requests for people wanting a duplicate copy of corp boards and planets so they can play a full table with everybody playing Republic Corporation and everybody playing Planet Petra for example.

Agreed. Not a perfect option but one that seems to solve a lot of requests with one idea.

It would also seem that the deluxe supermoon box might solve my problem, if I opted for the neoprene upgrade version of it, correct?

As an owner of the retail edition, I went for a simple storage solution for my wooden tokens (which I prefer to the plastic ones). A gamegenic token boxes: https://www.gamegenic.com/product/token-silo-convertible/
It’s flat enough that it causes no box lift at all when sitting atop the lazy Susan.

I would like to purchase a la carte:
-New Civ cards
-Lazy SUSAN lid
-Deeper lid for Deluxe Ed.
Cheers.
I have the Deluxe Box from first Kickstarter and I want to see a german language add on (the cards and the boards in german)
The more I read the more confused I am about what is in and out of each version, let alone the box dimensions! Perhaps some sort of table would be useful (to be at least!).
